| Welcome to the Economic Alliance of the Houston Port Region. The manufacturing and maritime economy of our region provides livelihoods for our citizens and The Alliance is a part of that success. Together, working with the community and businesses, we continue to proactively work to keep our region’s economy vibrant. Since 1985, The Economic Alliance organization has promoted economic development for the region. The Alliance currently represents a collaboration of 15 communities, 12 Chambers of Commerce, Harris County and the Port of Houston. To name just a few of the allies that the Alliance works closely with to provide economic development services are the Greater Houston Partnership, East Harris County Manufacturers Association (EHCMA), CenterPoint Energy, the Office of the Governor’s Economic Development and Tourism, San Jacinto College and other local economic development agencies. An urban revitalization plan, named Project Stars, is another initiative created by the Economic Alliance; for more on this visit the region's newly created historic district, click the logo below. The footprint of the Alliance falls under the jurisdiction of Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Sylvia R. Garcia. Click on an area to learn more!! |
