The Economic Alliance Houston Port Region is a regional Economic Development Corporation whose mission is to create a vibrant regional economy.  The very core of everything that we do is driven by economic development.  Our goal is to be the most sought-after region in the entire world for potential employers and their employees.  We accomplish this by offering top-notch economic development services to site locators, brokers, private industry, and our member cities & communities from inception of a project to groundbreaking.

Membership of the organization consists of 12 cities, the Port of Houston Authority, Harris County, and 250 private industry members with business in the vicinity of the 25-mile Houston Ship Channel.  The Houston Ship Channel is home to one of the world’s most influential energy corridors and trade ports in the world. Since 2008, the Economic Alliance has supported over 40 successful projects that have facilitated business activities creating over 4,400 new jobs and over $5.5 billion of capital investment in the region.

Incentive Guidance

The Economic Alliance represents the Port of Houston Authority, Harris County, and 12 cities in the Houston Ship Channel region who each have their own economic development programs.  We act as a facilitator for incentive discussions between these public entities and site selectors, brokers, industry members, and prospective developers.
