| Known for its bird sanctuaries, Morgan’s Point was a historically significant city during the formation of the Republic of Texas. Founded by Colonel James Morgan, the owner of Morgan’s Point Plantation, Morgan’s Point is home of the Yellow Rose of Texas. A number of historic homes make up the Morgan’s Point National Historic District. The shipping industry continues to be a mainstay of its economy where Barbour’s Cut Terminal is a busy hub of both the shipping industry and the cruise industry.  |
